EnvoNEWS July 2022

Plastic-Free July might be behind us, but let’s continue the good habits cultivated last month so our planet can regenerate itself faster. It sounds like a choice, but it’s really a necessity. Across the Atlantic, California has passed the USA’s most stringent plastic reduction bill, which “could prevent 23 million tons of plastic pollution by 2032”.

British online grocer Ocado has just launched a dedicated section on its website with over 1100 products from 35 B-Corp certified suppliers, giving a huge boost to the global movement that balances People and Planet alongside Profit. South African industry body – Plastics South Africa – has called for a plastic-free environment and science-based targets to achieve the same. A month after India and Canada banned single-use plastic, what are the implications on the beauty industry? With an increasing number of companies announcing sustainable packaging strategies, this month’s envoBLOG discusses ‘End-Of-Life in Packaging’.
