Is IKEA’S New Furniture ‘Buy Back’ Scheme Greenwashing?
Swedish flatpack giant IKEA is starting a scheme to buy back your old furniture. The ‘buy back’ initiative will launch in November to coincide with Black Friday and is intended to take a stand against the excessive consumption that usually happens on this day. The Furniture Giant has often been criticised, and even from within its company, there are fears as to the legitimacy of how ethical or sustainable their initiatives are.

EU Commission adopts new Chemicals Strategy towards a toxic-free environment

This month, the European Commission adopted the EU Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability. The Strategy is the first step towards a zero pollution ambition for a toxic-free environment announced in the European Green Deal. The Strategy will boost innovation for safe and sustainable chemicals, and increase protection of human health and the environment against hazardous chemicals.
