envoNEWS | August 2022

Another month passes by and the planet continues to manifest its rage against humanity, as a heatwave sparks new forest fires in California. Whose responsibility is it to ensure climate conservation – governments, corporations or consumers? Scientists in the UK are planning civil disobedience demonstrations in front of government offices to elucidate the gravity of the climate crisis. The BBC recently found that Google Flights has reviewed route emissions to almost half of the original figure! With the governments and corporations seemingly slacking, consumers have responded to sustainability positively, Deloitte finds. A journalist goes plastic-free for a week in Tokyo and shares her insights with the world.

Corporate giant Amazon is always in the news, this time for their commitment to sustainability through their packaging.  This industry has seen many pro-planet legislations recently, and naturally, many innovations have followed. But are they well-thought and complete solutions? Unilever launches laundry detergent capsules that are estimated to reduce carbon emissions and plastic consumption. We look forward to their figures!  As for envoPAPwe have been shortlisted for an innovation award by Barclays (fingers crossed)! We also had the pleasure of hosting two wonderful children who accompanied their parents on a business trip! Interacting with them reminded us of the sheer importance of our mission – to secure a safe future for future generations – in the most wonderful way possible
